YMCA Children’s Services has been providing children, youth and families with high-quality educational child care for more than 150 years; we’re the largest provider of not-for-profit licensed child care across Canada.
Our programs are designed to facilitate growth in all areas of a child’s development. Our dedicated teaching staff has diverse qualifications that allow your child to have a variety of experiences that promote early learning through a hands-on, fun approach.
YMCA Early Learning Child Care Centres (Infancy to 6 years)
The YMCA of North Bay follows the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum that is both educational and fun. Our program focuses on children’s active learning by challenging them physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually while promoting early learning and readiness skills, which will help prepare the children for their entry into school.
YMCA Early Learning Home Child Care Services (Infancy to 12 years)
YMCA Home Child Care is often the child care of choice for parents who are looking for a quality program which offers more flexibility in extended hours (overnights and weekends), a smaller group size (1:5 ratio) and a program that is located in a home environment. Through a careful selection process, each self-employed child care Provider receives the ongoing support of a YMCA Home Child Care Consultant, which visits each program regularly.
YMCA Early Learning School-Age Programs (Kids Club) (3.8 to 12 years)
YMCA School-Age programs offer a variety of social and recreational activities in keeping with the YMCA’s Mission, Vision and Core Values that believe in the development of healthy confident children. Our extra-curricular program is designed to foster independence, discovery, and build on a child’s decision-making skills while building self-confidence and personal growth. YMCA School-Age programs operate before, after school and on P.D. Days and School Breaks. We also provide a full day licensed Summer Club camp specifically designed for school-age child and a recreational summer camp (Rotary, YMCA Camp Tillicum), which is for children between the ages of 7 and 12.
